September 22 A Jammed Packed MonthOnce again i’m laying in bed enjoying my morning off. I take the minutes of the board meetings at work. They go pretty late so i get the morning off. It’s pretty sweet. I’ve also recently asked if i can work Saturdays and have a weekday off. I love having weekdays off plus i can arrange it with Doug so we hang out together. Also it’s so quiet at work on Saturdays so i can catch up with work without being interrupted. The boss seemed impressed i enjoyed working Saturdays. Noice! I saw Doug off at the airport last weekend. We have been spending so much time together so it’ll feel different not having him around for 5 weeks. I’ve been pretty good. I surprise myself sometimes. Tears welled up when he said goodbye but i was ok. He’s going on an awesome holiday, i was happy for him and he’ll be home soon anyway. But…i’m having a bad day today. I’m crying! I didn’t have a very good day yesterday plus i’m trying to find a new housemate. I suppose i’m entitled to a wussy day. On to happier things. I’ve had a really good past month seeing gigs and bike riding. Earlier in the month i went to a beginners mountain bike class. It was SO much fun. I was the first to bleed….yeeerr i’m tough! I chickened out on a couple of big hills which i regret now. My favourite part was riding on the logs. A couple of days before the class Doug took me on a ride to prepare myself. A bit sore after that day. I fell off. It’s so hard to remember everything at once…i usually forget the breaking part. I’m going to try ride there every weekend. I’ll see if Jess wants to come. I was told not to go by myself but…i am (shh) I don’t want to not go just because no one will go with me. That’s like this weekend…the NRL footy is on. No one wants to go…i don’t want to miss out, so i’ll go alone. It’s so silly….the NRL game is on the same day as the AFL grand final. On the 12th Doug and i took a mini road trip to Ferntree Gully and saw Little Birdy. It was a pretty quiet gig. Not as big as their last gig in Ferntree. Still, i had an awesome time. We stayed the night in a really nice apartment. Probably one of the best weekends i’ve had. Sunday, i met Doug’s parents. I was really nervous haha. We had afternoon tea at his brother’s place. I had a really nice time. His family are so lovely. Made me feel welcome straight away. It made me miss my family. So i’m thinking of heading to Sydney to visit dad in a couple of weeks. The next week Doug and i saw Grinspoon! Sooooo excited about seeing them. It was wild. I haven’t seen a mosh pit for years! People were even crowed surfing. I had to back out a little bit because it’s a bit rough for me. I was hanging out to hear DCx3 the whole gig and they played it as their last song. It was awesome! It must have been a loud gig because i had ear plugs in and i still felt a little bit of ringing! Last weekend Dave and Penni came from Sydney for a visit. Doug got to met my brother when we went out for dinner Friday night for dumplings (yum). Saturday i checked out a couple of rental properties then headed out to Madame Brussels for cocktails with Carly and Sera. I skulled my last 2 drinks because Doug was picking me up so i was a little tipsy/drunk haha. Doug and i then went out to dinner for Christen and Sarah’s birthday. I had a really nice night. Nice bunch of people. Then, Doug and i headed to the airport and stayed in a hotel for the night to spend some time together before he went away. A jammed packed weekend! So it’s my first AFL grand final. I don’t really care who wins. I still don’t completely like the game. I’m going to Jen’s place on Saturday and have a girly BBQ footy day. Then Sunday i’m going for a ride on my own (shhh!) Housemate WantedI’m looking for a housemate. If anyone is interested or know of anybody interested please contact me :)
1 unfurnished room available for rent in a classic Victorian terrace on Carlton North, Melbourne. Situated to nearby cafe's, restaurants, shops. Tram is at the door step providing easy access to the CBD and Melbourne Uni. The property comprises of 2 bedrooms, hallway, furnished lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. Separate laundry and a rear courtyard. I have a small dog so i’m looking for someone who is pet friendly. Also easy going, sociable, clean, non-smoker, professional, 25-35, M/F. $937 per month. Includes bills. Bond $867 August 26 Now stop….pizza time!I’m having a nice, relaxing morning today. Today is my late day at work. So I'm laying on my bed sharing a pack of chips with Charlie Bronson, listening to JJJ and the sweet sounds of my smoke detector telling me the battery is low. Hopefully the landlord comes soon and changes the battery because i can’t reach the roof! So lots of things have been happening lately. Been seeing lots and lots of bands with Doug. We’ve gone gig mad! Last weekend we saw my favourite band The Audreys. I was super excited. A little disappointed the bass player had left because he played double bass and now he’s been replaced with a normal bass guitarist. I love a double bass. Still sounded great though. Saturday, i rode my bike into town and went to the Dali exhibition. It was packed! I appreciate Dali is a talented artist but DAMN he’s a nutter. He seems obsessed with mathematics, science, religion and the fourth dimension. Friday, Doug and i saw my friend Nathan DJ. Kinda not my scene anymore going to clubs but it was nice to see Nathan although he friends aren’t really too friendly…i think they are too cool for school. Wednesday, i saw Pink with Jen from work, her mum, and her friend Conrad. I wasn’t really all that interested but I've heard Pink puts on a great show….and she sure did! It was amazing. Lots of trapeze and acrobatics. Apparently there is a pool under the floor and they opened up the floor and she dunked herself in!
Some dodgy photos with my phone. Weekend before that Doug and i saw Eddie, the lead singer from Live. The Forum is the most beautiful theatre I've ever seen! I’m sure i spent half the gig looking at the roof. All the theatres in Melbourne are so beautiful. Nothing even comes close in Sydney. I’ve finally stopped thinking of myself as a Sydney person who has moved to Melbourne. Melbourne is definitely my home now. Probably the best gig so far was the Katy Steele solo gig. It was a female acoustic gig at the Arts Centre. I love sit down acoustic sets. Gotta go to work!……
…….It’s now Wednesday. I’ll eventually finish this blog hehe. Pretty tired at the moment. I had a late night at work and an early start this morning. I’ve been feeling tense at work lately. Now that I've got the hang of every day things the bosses are teaching me other stuff. Which I'm really happy about…but maybe I'm too worried about making sure i do it right. I’ve so much on my mind that i have to write everything down or I'll forget. You should see my outlook diary at work. It’s chock a block haha. Oh well, I'm enjoying it…i just need to relax. So! Carly, my room mate has just told me she’s moving out. I’ve had to increase the rent because of our bills. Things are starting to get expensive. Not sure what to do really. Get another room mate? Find another place and share? Find a place of my own? I’m not sure i want to house share again with a stranger. I enjoy the company but seeing what Doug has gone through with finding a house mate i don’t know if i want to do it. Tomorrow night i was thinking of going to training but i don’t like Thursday night training. I’m left to my own devices…which is pretty boring. I had a feeling a gig was on anyway. I think Kram might be on. I hope so! So, this weekend Luke, my neighbour, is having a farewell party. He’s moving back home to Canberra and going to uni. I also have String group! I go to the local community centre and have a jam with 4 other violinists and 2 cellists. I’m completely crap but it’s lots of fun and we’ll be performing in the Christmas concert! Sunday my dad and Jo are coming to Melbourne and Doug and i are having dinner with them and drinks on Monday. Looking forward to seeing them! I haven’t seen dad ….well….i don’t remember the last time i saw dad. Maybe a year ago. Next week will be 3 months for Doug and i :) I’m really enjoying being with Doug. He’s such a great guy. He makes me laugh so much and makes me feel good about myself even when I've just woken up, hair all over the place, and have morning breath. Cue dream weaver music **ooooohhhh drreeammm weaverrr** Yea, that’s right, I'm smitten by him. Seriously tho, it feels so nice to be close to him and he makes me really happy. He’s off overseas soon for 5 weeks. Completely jealous he’s jetting off around the world hehe. I’ll definitely miss him :) Better head off to Trivia!! Pizza, pizza, pizza….mmmmm Until next time my pretties…..next time! July 05 Goodbye old bike….hello Aqua GutsFeeling a little down at the moment. I had my bike stolen yesterday from out the front of my house! Never ever leaving my bikes out front again. Doug gave me a mountain bike today. She’s pretty. Her name is Aqua Guts. She’s sleeping inside tonight. Not much room outside…i came home this afternoon to find a car with it’s back window smashed in my backyard. I have no idea whose car it is. So, i’m even more creeped out. Stolen bike…smashed car windows…hopefully nothing else. Besides that, i had a really nice week. Doug and i have been together for 1 month last Thursday :) I’m really enjoying being with him. Especially just recently..things feel closer. It’s a nice feeling. We did a back to back gig of the basics a couple of weeks ago. We saw them in Geelong on a Thursday night. Then in Castlemaine on the Friday night. It was a pretty quiet gig at Geelong. We were asked to be the merch bitches and was pretty impressed with that haha. The road trip to Castlemaine was so much fun. It’s a beautiful old town and i could breathe fresh air and see the stars! I loved it. The gig was lotsa fun. No posers and everyone was there to have a good time. Doug and i cut sick on the dance floor hehe. Next gig is The Herd!..i think. Or maybe Hilltop Hoods! Whooo!! I love tickets! The weekend before last i saw Jordie Lane at the Northcote with Doug, Jess and Gus. I’ve been wanting to go to the Northcote since moving to Melbourne. I saw Alan Brough! I think i need to get over seeing famous people. I seem to see a lot of them in Melbourne. At least i got Alan’s name right! Not like when i saw Brendan Cowell and called him Simon Cowell. Oopsie! Jordie Lane was great although i was sick during the whole gig. I had to keep leaving to use the bathroom. I hate it when that happens. I felt so sick. I was leaning into Doug hoping the gig would end soon. This weekend, Doug came over and i cooked dinner. Turned out nicely…and reminds me, i have ice cream in the freezer :) Saturday i caught up with Brad and went bowling. I ate waaaay too much food. I had breakfast, then coffee and toast, then sushi all within 2 hours. I rode my bike into the city! It was so much fun. I was in the traffic, at the lights, signalling…i’m getting the hang of it. I even raced a tram at the lights…and won! Saturday night i went out to dinner for Doug’s sister in law’s birthday. It was a nice night. I was a bit down about my bike and didn’t feel my happy self. I was more freaked out then anything else. Creepy to know someone let themselves through my gate while i was home. I had a good night anyway. It was nice meeting Doug’s brother. Didn’t get up to much today. I came home from Doug’s place this afternoon to the usual pot smelling house, dirty dishes, no toilet paper house. So, i grabbed Charlie and took him for a walk. Now i think i better get some sleep. No pictures this blog….so u can have one of me and Charlie signing off! Goodnight! June 14 Sun comes up, sun goes downSuch a beautiful day today. I’m sitting in my favourite spot on the back step having a coffee and sharing a pie with Charlie. Feeling really good at the moment. Super happy. Just rode home from Doug’s place on my new bike! Well, kinda my bike but not really but i get to look after it and ride it. It’s the bestest bike in the world. I’ll have to name it…unless it already has a name. Maybe i’ll call it Fanta Pants. I’m sooooo cold at the moment. I’m using the washing machine so i’ve had to turn the heater off. Last Monday the fuse blew so i went to bunnings bought the switch fuses and replaced them all but it kept shorting out. The electrician came..eventually….and said the heater and the kettle was the reason for the fuse shorting out. The only way to fix it is to rewire the house and they aren’t prepared to do that. So i rang the tenancy authority and they said under the something something act of renting they must fix it and i can submit a complaint to them. Now the real estate is trying to sort out the problem. They think if they buy me better heaters it’ll fix the problem. Somehow i doubt it will fix it. I’m thinking once the contract is finished in January i’m going to move. Maybe somewhere closer to work in the burbs…..or maybe sooner if it doesn’t get fixed. Last weekend i went to the Swans v Hawkes game with my friend Tim from Sydney. He came up with Melissa who is a Hawkes member and she gave us free tickets! Whoo! I have no idea about the rules of AFL but it’s fun to boo and jeer. After the game i took them to dinner and ate dumplings. I ate 15 dumplings! Mmmm dumplings. Then they went back to Sydney. They only came down for the day! This weekend has gone so quickly. Friday night i planned to go gay clubbing with my neighbours. I’ve piked out twice on them before so i was pretty much told i had to go out with them…which sorta put me off side from the start. I’m not much of a clubber anymore. I’d rather have dinner with mates at a pub and chat. I love to dance but at a gigs. Carly also piked. I don’t think it’s really her thing either. Sera messaged us and called us losers for not going out. I’m over it…they can jam it. She needs to realise i’m not 19 like her. Not that i’m old but i’ve noticed i’ve changed….i’ve changed man! So Friday night Doug came over for pizza and a movie. I was so tired Friday night. Thursday was a big day at work. We had a massive meeting that night and i had to stay back to register people. I felt like Bubbles by the end of the night….Hello, how are you. Hello, how are you. Hello, how are you. Hello, how are you. Hello, how are you. I strive to be the best administration assistant just like Bubbles.
I enjoyed it…maybe i am a loser haha. After work i saw the Vulpine. Super impressed…they rocked. Went to sleep, got back up and went to work again…so by Friday night i was a little sleepy. Saturday i went shopping! I saw the most awesomeness boots in Caulfield last week so i bought them! The ladies in the shop looked me up and down as if to say – you couldn’t afford to by the dirt on the floor! The boots were $440!!! But i really really wanted them…..so i got em! Afterwards i visited Doug at work. I got a biscuit. I like his work haha. Saturday night Doug and i had dinner at a pub with his friends. His friends are so nice. We rode our bikes there. So much fun. Getting much more confident riding a bike now. Doug’s bike is easier to ride than mine but i’m still getting leg burns on hills haha. Well, they are probably more like slight inclines. I better buy some groceries. I forgot last week…but made do with 2 min noodles and muesli bars hehe Laterzzzz |
